Rocky Bucano has an extensive executive career in television, music label management and digital entertainment distribution. He is currently the President and Chairman of the Board of the Universal Hip Hop Museum and a licensed financial advisor specializing in investments, Medicare health plans, estate planning, retirement and insurance. Rocky’s experience includes working as technical director for WWOR TV; launching the Bronx-based Strong City Records with Hip Hop icon DJ Jazzy Jay; founding 3rd Rail Entertainment, an independent marketing and artist development firm to provide sales and marketing support to major recording companies such as MCA, Virgin, Atlantic, Warner Bros and Sony; and managing hip hop label Rowdy Records. After spending 12 years in the music industry Rocky earned his Bachelor’s degree from the College of New Rochelle’s School of New Resources in 1997 and then his Masters of Business Administration in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix in 2001. Rocky assumed the role of President of the Universal Hip Hop Museum in 2012, and lead the chartered cultural arts and education organization to design and launch Hip Hop’s first virtual museum and form the requisite political and business alliances to support the museum’s development pursuit of a brick and mortar facility based in the South Bronx.
